High-Altitude Operation
At altitude, reduced air density affects cooling performance. Fans displace less mass flow, even if volume flow remains constant.
Key Considerations:
● Derating: At 10,000 ft (~3,048 m), air density drops to ~70% of sea level.
● Correction Formula: Where is air density (kg/m³)
● Air Density Formula:
o : air pressure (Pa)
o : specific gas constant for dry air
o : temperature (Kelvin)
